Chris studied Music at the University of Sheffield, and took his MSc and PhD at the University of York in Music Technology. He is currently Professor of Acoustics in the School of Media Arts and Technology School at Southampton Solent University. Chris leads the Acoustics group at Solent, and is a leader in applied research, curriculum design and learning technology. Chris has a wide range of publications on voice science, acoustics, audio engineering and learning technologies. Research interests currently focus on: Immersive technologies in engineering diagnostics and training, technology in music and engineering education, environment and wellness and education noise related hearing loss. Chris was Chair of the International Conference on ICT in Education (ICICTE) from 2012 to 2018. He is on the Editorial Advisory board of the International Journal of Information and Learning Technologies, is on the scientific committees of several other conferences and is a reviewer for multiple journals.
