The research team of ASPETE (School of Pedagogical and Technological Education, Greece) presented “Slidewiki as an e-learning environment” at the poster session of ECEL2018 – the 17th European Conference on e-Learning. Moreover, the research team had a laptop on the spot and demonstrated SlideWiki platform to the participants of the conference.
ECEL2018 (https://www.academic-conferences.org/conferences/ecel/) was held in University of West Attica, Athens, Greece on 1st- 2nd November 2018. Participants from more than 40 countries were mainly academic scholars and practitioners who are engaged in various aspects of e-Learning.
The poster (available at https://goo.gl/Kqd6NH and https://slidewiki.org/presentation/123164-1) presents SlideWiki features that promote the development of OERs and ASPETE’s empirical study. The presenters, Papanikolaou Kyparisia and Zalavra Eleni, endorsed the potential of SlideWiki as an e-learning environment and requested participants’ feedback. Issues addressed were how they value SlideWiki’s features, how do they assess the organization of OER’s as a set of slides, as well as, what analytics they expect from such an environment.
Participants were quite enthusiastic towards the development of OERs as set of slides and the overwhelming majority stated that it eases online content creation and distribution for both educators and learners. They highly valued the features of collaborative content authoring and educational content reuse. They declared their intention to try SlideWiki and integrate it in their practice.
